Key Differences

The film adds more visual effects to the monster's stories than the book describes. The ending is slightly more optimistic in the film. Some secondary characters are condensed or omitted for pacing.

Our Verdict

Enjoy both!

The film complements the book well by visualizing key elements and maintaining the emotional core, making both experiences valuable. Watching the film after reading enhances understanding and emotional impact.
