The Book

Russel Middlebrook is a gay high school sophomore who discovers several other gay and questioning students at his school. Together they form a support group cleverly disguised as the dull-sounding Geography Club.

The Film

At Goodkind High School, a group of students with varying sexual orientations form an after-school club as a discreet way to share their feelings and experiences.

Key Differences

The film condenses several characters and storylines for time, simplifying some complex relationships. The book provides more in-depth exploration of the main character's internal struggles. The film omits certain subplots related to family dynamics present in the novel.

Our Verdict

Enjoy both!

Both the book and film offer valuable perspectives, with the film providing a more accessible introduction and the book delivering deeper emotional insight. Fans benefit from experiencing both to fully appreciate the story.
