Stuart Little is a mouse born into a human family in New York City who embarks on a journey northward in search of his dearest friend, a little bird named Margalo.
When the Littles adopt Stuart, the mouse, George is initially unwelcoming to his new brother, and the family cat, Snowbell, is even less enthusiastic. Stuart resolves to face these difficulties with as much pluck and courage as he can.
The film adds a subplot involving a family cat that does not exist in the book. Stuart is portrayed as more anthropomorphic and adventurous in the film. The movie includes modern urban settings and technology absent from the original 1945 book.
The film takes significant creative liberties, making it less faithful to the original book. It is best enjoyed after reading the book to appreciate the differences and original story.
