The Book

A group of rabbits, led by Hazel and his prophetic brother Fiver, leave their doomed warren and journey across the English countryside to find a new home.

The Film

Hoping to escape destruction by human developers and save their community, a colony of rabbits, led by Hazel and Fiver, seek out a safe place to set up a new warren. Along the way, they face many dangers and challenges that test their courage and unity.

Key Differences

The film omits some of the deeper political and mythological background present in the book. Some characters have reduced roles or are combined for brevity. The film's ending is more optimistic and simplified compared to the book's more complex resolution.

Our Verdict

Enjoy both!

The film captures the core story and themes well but simplifies some elements for time and audience. Both reading the book and watching the film provide a fuller appreciation of the story.
