The Book

The story of the Clock family, tiny people who live beneath the floorboards of a house and 'borrow' everyday objects from the humans above.

The Film

A secret family of four-inch people living inside the walls of a house must save their home from an evil real estate developer. They face many challenges while trying to remain hidden and protect their tiny world.

Key Differences

The film adds a more prominent villain character not present in the book. The Borrowers' family structure is simplified for the movie. The setting is updated to a more modern time compared to the original book's period.

Our Verdict

Enjoy both!

The film captures the spirit of the book while making changes to appeal to a wider audience and modern viewers. Both reading the book and watching the film provide a fuller understanding and enjoyment of the story.
